Workplace Safety and Health Practices Implementation (Level 1)

Course Overview

The learner will be able to understand the importance of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and able to identify the common risks and hazards involved in the environmental services industry. The learner will be able to report unsafe working conditions or work practices by organizational procedures.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Understand the importance of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) (Knowledge1 Importance of WSH)
  • Identify the common risks and hazards involved in the environmental services industry (Knowledge3 Common risks and hazards involved in environmental services industry)
  • Follow WSH risk control measures within the work area. (Ability1 Follow WSH practices to prevent accidents or minimize risks)(Knowledge4 WSH risk control measures)
  • Report unsafe working conditions or work practices in accordance with organisational procedures. (Knowledge2 Organisational reporting procedures for WSH-related matters) (Ability2 Identify the unsafe acts or conditions present in the work environment) (Ability3 Report to supervisor unsafe acts or conditions)

Prerequisites:

Learner’s profile:
Applicants should preferably
Be above 18 years of age
Able to speak, listen, and read English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL) 2.
Secondary or lower education
Minimum 3 months of relevant work experience.
