Course Overview

Threat Observation (Recognise Terrorist Threats) | RTT course provides security officers with essential skills and knowledge to identify and respond to various terrorist threats.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • The ability to recognize and describe contemporary terrorist threats.
  • Skills to identify person-borne threats, including suspicious individuals and behaviors.
  • Knowledge to identify vehicle-borne threats, such as suspicious vehicles or potential hazards.
  • Expertise in identifying object-based threats, including unattended packages or suspicious items that pose security risks.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Learners are expected to be 18 years old and above.
  • Listen, Speak, Read, and Write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS Level 4; Manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS Level 4.
  • Act professionally.
  • Observe confidentiality.
  • Be vigilant at all times.

Learning Units:

  • Identify persons found to be behaving suspiciously
  • Identify disorderly and threatening behavior
  • Recognize the impact of successful terrorist attacks on assignment area based on updated information on current terrorist threats
  • Recognize person-borne, vehicle-borne, and object-based threats based on various TTI of malicious intent and obvious signs
  • Take appropriate action to observe suspicious person(s), and vehicles in accordance with protocols in dealing with the respective threats
  • Conduct security questioning on suspicious persons after a period of observation
  • Review and report collected information to relevant persons/authorities in accordance with organizational procedure on terrorism

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.

Dress code: Shirt (long or short sleeve), Pant (No jeans), Black shoes.

Course Duration: 10 Hours. Day 1 – 9 AM to 6 PM, Day 2 – 9 AM to 11 AM (Assessment).

Only participants with 100% attendance will be eligible to sit for the examination.

Assessment will be conducted by POLWEL. Assessment format: Role play – 75 mins, Oral Questioning – 45 mins.
