Course Overview

Supervise Suspended Scaffold Course | SSS, formerly known as Suspended Scaffold Supervisor Course | SSSC trains persons who wish to act as Suspended Scaffold Supervisors to supervise the erection, installation, re-positioning, dismantling, or alteration of a suspended scaffold.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • The knowledge and skills to act as a Suspended Scaffold Supervisor to supervise the erection, installation, repositioning, dismantling, or alteration of a suspended scaffold.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Participants are required to wear their safety boots for the practical sessions.
  • Only the trainees with 100% Attendance will be allowed to sit for the test.

Learning Units:

  • Identify standard components and parts of suspended scaffold including different outriggers and anchorages.
  • Perform pre-start checks of equipment and gears, start-up procedures, shutdown procedures, and emergency procedures.
  • Interpret drawing with regards to rigging, installation, and dismantling of suspended scaffold using different outriggers.
  • Inspect suspended scaffolds, safety devices, braking systems, anchorage points, and related details.
  • Perform troubleshooting of the winch/climbing mechanism
  • Use personal protective equipment (body harness) and lifeline.

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.

An approved scaffold contractor shall employ or engage only scaffold supervisors, scaffold erectors, and suspended scaffold riggers who have undergone a course of training approved by the Chief Inspector

The scaffold supervisor (for both scaffold and suspended scaffolds) shall be a person who has undergone a course of training approved by the Chief Inspector

Outdoor practical classes may be postponed if required, due to unforeseen circumstances like rain.
