Course Overview

Supervision of Metal Scaffold Erection Course | SMSE Course, formerly known as Supervision of Metal Scaffold Erection Course provides learners with the knowledge and skills to supervise scaffold erection and dismantling work activities in construction and other industries.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped with:

  • The knowledge and skills in supervising scaffold erection and dismantling work activities in construction and other industries.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Successfully completed the Metal Scaffold Erection Course. Proof of entry requirement includes the submission of a Certificate of Successful Completion or WSQ Certificate of Attainment (SOA).

Assumed Skills & Knowledge:
Learners are assumed to:

  • Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy Level 4 and above.
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 4 and above.
  • Participants are required to wear their safety boots for the practical sessions.
  • Only the trainees with 100% Attendance will be allowed to sit for the test.
  • The scaffold supervisor shall be a person who has undergone a course of training approved by the Commissioner.

  • Special scaffolds and their types
  • WSH (Scaffolds) Regulations for scaffold activities and relevant case studies on scaffold incidents
  • Scaffold register and inspection checklists
  • Factors affecting the safety of scaffold structure
  • Hazards Identifications and safety of scaffold erection and dismantling

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.
