Course Overview

This course trains security personnel in the essential skills and knowledge required to conduct thorough security screening of individuals and their belongings. Participants will learn to operate screening equipment, manage prohibited items, and ensure the safety and security of restricted areas.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped with:

  • Knowledge and skills of security personnel to conduct security screening of persons and bags.

Prerequisites:

Learners are expected to be 18 years old and above.
Assumed Skills and Knowledge:
Learners, who signed up for this unit, are assumed to have the following skills and knowledge:
Able to read, listen, and speak in English at ESS Level 3;
Able to read a computer monitor and see at a distance;
Possess basic skills in operating a computer;
Truthful and Honest;
Sense of duty and responsibility on the Job;
Disciplined and able to follow instructions when given.

Dress code: Shirt (long or short sleeve), Pant (No jeans), Black shoes.

Physical and Medical requirements: Participants should not have color-blindness and hearing impairment and must be physically fit to work as a Security Officer. A Medical certificate, issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner, on the above physical and medical requirements, must be submitted along with the course registration form.

Learning Units:

  • Carry out security screening duty
  • Prepare the person for security screening
  • Use of screening equipment
  • Handle of prohibited and hazardous items

Medium of Instruction: English. Only participants with 100% attendance will be eligible to sit for the examination.
Course Duration: 14 Hours. Day 1: 9 AM to 6 PM; Day 2: 9 AM to 4 PM
POLWEL will conduct the assessment. Assessment format: Role play – 100 mins, Oral Questioning – 20 mins.
