Course Overview

Perform Work in Confined Space Operation Course | PWCSO Course, formerly known as Safety Orientation Course for workers (Manhole) SOC Manhole is a mandatory course for workers who work in manholes and confined spaces.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

Acquire the expertise required to effectively fulfill a confined space attendant’s responsibilities.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

Have basic knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Know how to use basic PPE provided at the workplace
Be able to follow written and oral work instructions
Be able to listen, read, speak, and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2
Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2.

100% attendance is required.
Latecomers are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED into the class.

Trainees must bring along any one of the following documents (photocopy or original) to be allowed to attend the class
Work permit
IPA and Passport
NRIC / S Pass / Employment Pass.

Trainees must wear Safety Shoes and be properly attired (No Singlet/Shorts/Bermudas).

Learning Units:

Identify duties and responsibilities of all personnel involved in confined space work under the WSH Legislations and Code of Practice
Identify confined space hazards
Use Gas Detection Instruments for atmospheric monitoring
Comply with the Permit to Work system and safe work procedures when working in a confined space
Participate in an Emergency in a confined space
