Course Overview

The Perform Rigger and Signalman Tasks | PRST course equips individuals with the essential knowledge and skills to safely prepare, tie, and maneuver loads using any form of lifting equipment. Participants will learn to give correct and clear signals to guide crane operators in safely directing loads to their destinations. This course ensures that participants are well-prepared to perform rigging and signaling tasks with a strong focus on safety and precision.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Understand rigging and signaling operations for lifting tasks.
  • Apply the knowledge and skills to safely maneuver loads to their destination.
  • Perform lifting operations as a Rigger and Signalman with increased safety awareness.
  • Adhere to workplace safety and health regulations (Operations of Cranes) for mobile and tower crane operations.
  • Ensure safer work environments by following proper lifting procedures and standards.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Learners are expected to be 18 years old and above.
  • Have basic knowledge of the relevant sector or work.
  • Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 2.
  • Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 2.
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 2.
  • Be medically fit.

  • Perform Rigger and Signalman Tasks and Reinstate Rigger and Signalman work area.

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.
