The Occupational First Aid Course | OFAC

Course Overview

The Occupational First Aid Course is a mandatory training course for Occupational First Aiders. The aim of the course is to train individuals to render first aid treatment to the casualty during an emergency or accident at the workplace.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Identify workplace accidents involving casualties and perform essential first aid skills to ensure safety.
  • List the legal requirements under Workplace Safety and Health (First Aid) Regulations (Cap. 354A, Reg 4) Reg. 5 (2) for the workplace.
  • Check and pack contents of First Aid Box
  • Apply first aid to accident victims in the workplace
  • Manage a medical emergency at the workplace
  • Manage victims of *hazardous chemicals exposure
  • Identify common workplace accidents requiring first aid treatment

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Assumed Skills & Knowledge: ESS WPLN LEVEL 5
  • From 1st January 2022, SRFAC will also require all learners/trainees to be fully vaccinated or certified to be medically ineligible for COVID-19 vaccines or have recovered from COVID-19 within the past 180 days before they can come onsite for training. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals will not be allowed for onsite training.

  • Wounds, bleeding, and shock
  • Fractures and soft tissue injuries
  • Handling and transportation of injured
  • CPR and use of AED
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Unconscious patient
  • Occupational eye injuries
  • Burn injuries
  • Industrial toxicology
  • Safety and accident prevention
  • Management of medical emergencies
