Course Overview

The Manage Work at Height (MWAH) course, previously known as Managing Work At Height provides essential training for professionals to safely oversee and manage work-at-height activities, adhering to Singapore’s WSH regulations and safety standards.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Meet the minimum standard for working at height training for supervisors, assessors, or managers in Singapore.
  • Comply with the WORKPLACE SAFETY AND HEALTH (WORK AT HEIGHTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2014.
  • Follow the Approved Code of Practice for working safely at height (2013).
  • Acquire the necessary knowledge to manage work-at-height (WAH) activities safely.
  • Ensure that work at height is conducted safely in compliance with regulations.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy. (WPLN) Level 4 and above, or equivalent
  • Ability to carry out hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control measures. Only participants with a minimum of 100% attendance on training hours will be allowed to sit for the examination.

Learning Units:

  • Identify, explain, and apply the relevant workplace safety and health (WSH) legislations / Approved code of practice / Singapore standards applicable to work at heights (WAH).
  • Identify and explain the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, competent and responsible persons.
  • Identify hazards, evaluate the risk, and implement control measures for WAH activities.
  • Review the necessary fall preventive/protective control measures for the safe execution of WAH activities.
  • Establish, evaluate, review, and implement a Fall Prevention Plan.
  • Establish and implement a system for effective monitoring and control of WAH risks.
  • Demonstrate competency in donning, checking, and correcting Individual Fall Protection Equipment and Responding to a fall emergency.

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.

20 SDU Points applicable (Validity Period for SDU points – 1 Jul 2024 to 31 Dec 2024). WSHO can claim SDU points once only, for a course. The SDU points could not be claimed for a repeat or refresher course.
