AWSHPP Course | Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant | Oil Petrochemical Safety Orientation Course OPSOC Course

Course Overview

AWSHPP Course | Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant Course, formerly the Oil Petrochemical Safety Orientation Course OPSOC Course is a required WSH training program for all workers in the oil and petrochemical industry.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Have the skills and knowledge to apply workplace safety and health practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at work in the Oil and Petrochemical Industry.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Have basic knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Know how to use basic PPE provided at the workplace
  • Be able to follow written and oral work instructions
  • Be able to listen, read, speak, and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2.

100% attendance is required. Latecomers are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED into the class.

Trainees must bring along any one of the following documents (photocopy or original) to be allowed to attend the class
Work permit
IPA and Passport
NRIC / S Pass / Employment Pass.

Trainees must wear Safety Shoes and be properly attired (No Singlet/Shorts/Bermudas).

Learning Units:

The competency units are listed as follows:

  • Identify the roles and responsibilities under the Workplace Safety and Health Act
  • Identify and prevent fire and explosion
  • Comply with safe work practices and control measures for material handling
  • Comply with safe work practices and control measures for mechanical and electrical works
  • Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working on specialized operations
  • Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working at Heights
  • Comply with safe work practices and control measures when working in a confined space

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.
