Fall Prevention Equipment Inspector Course

Course Overview

This course is designed to meet or exceed the minimum standard for working at height training for a fall prevention equipment inspector (competent person), as required by regulation 12 of WSH (Work At Height) regulations 2013. It teaches the Fall Prevention Equipment inspector to understand the specific legal duties that apply to an inspector and carry out detailed inspections of a range of key fall arrest equipment.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Apply legislation requirements as a fall prevention equipment inspector
  • Identify roles and responsibilities as a fall prevention equipment inspector
  • Identify inspector regime for inspection of fall prevention equipment
  • Identify Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS)
  • Identify Fall Arrest Equipment (FAE) for Work At Heights
  • Inspect and identify defects in fall arrest equipment (FAE) for Work At Heights.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Trainee must have completed the Work At Height Course for Supervisors.

Additional Details:

4 SDU Points applicable (Validity Period for SDU points – 1 Jul 2024 to 31 Dec 2024). WSHO can claim SDU points once only, for a course. The SDU points could not be claimed for a repeat or refresher course.
On completion of the course, the learner will have the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to competently inspect a range of key fall arrest equipment.
