This course provides essential knowledge and skills for workers involved in hot work in shipyards, equipping participants with the understanding of their roles and responsibilities in preventing fires and explosions. Through learning about different types of hot work, flammable substances, and safety measures, participants will gain practical insights to ensure safety during shipyard operations.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • understanding your roles and responsibilities in the prevention of fires and explosions during hot work in a shipyard.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Participants must have attended and passed the SSIC for Workers (General Trade) before attending this course.
  • 100% attendance is required.
  • Latecomers are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED into the class.

  • Introduction to Shipyard Safety Instruction Course for Workers (Hot-Work Trade)

  • Understand how vapors/gases can accumulate in confined spaces
