Course Overview

Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Logistics and Transportation | The AWSHLT Course, formerly the Logistic & Transport Safety Orientation Course trains participants to recognize safety hazards in their area of work, know the preventive measures to be adopted, and observe safety signs and safe work procedures.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Understand legal obligations in workplace safety and health
  • Identify hazards in the logistics and transportation industry
  • Recognize industrial safety signs
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Take appropriate safety precautions when working with different hazards
  • Take appropriate response measures in case of a fire emergency

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Learners are assumed to have:
    • Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy Level 3 and above.
    • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 3 and above.

  • Legal obligations in workplace safety and health
  • Fire and explosion hazards in the logistics and transportation industry
  • Preventive measures for specialized operations
  • Preventive measures for material handling
  • Preventive measures for mechanical and electrical works
  • Personal protective equipment and its uses

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.
