Course Overview

Incident Response (Handle Security Incidents and Services) | The HSIS course prepares aspiring Security Officers to manage and respond to various security incidents. The program covers key topics such as incident response, fire emergencies, criminal incidents, bomb threats, and reporting. Additionally, it teaches strategies for managing disorderly behavior using de-escalation techniques, ensuring effective and safe resolution of incidents

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Have the knowledge and application skills in handling security incidents and services and be able to apply them to the workplace. This includes: – Containing incidents of damage to facilities and equipment – Handling fire-related incidents – Handling suspicious behavior and crime-related incidents – Handling medical or first-aid related incidents – Handling bomb or IED (Improvised Explosive Device) threat incidents – Searching, apprehending, and arresting suspects – Giving evidence in court.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Have at least a primary educational qualification, Able to listen and speak in English at ESS level 4, Able to read and write in English at ESS level 4
  • I have attained competency in the Provide Guard and Patrol Services.

Learning Units:

  • Inform relevant authorities about incidents
  • Handle fire-related incidents
  • Respond to drills in accordance with procedures
  • Handle crowds during incidents
  • Handle incidents of specific bomb threats
  • Handle incidents of alleged offence
  • Deal with information received from the complainant on criminal issues

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.

Medium of Instruction: English. Only participants with 75% attendance will be eligible to sit for the examination.

Dress code: Shirt (long or short sleeve), Pant (No jeans), Black shoe.

Course Duration: 26 hours. Day 1 to Day 3 – 9 AM to 6 PM; Day 4 – 9 AM to 11 AM

Please be informed that only Singaporeans, Singapore Permanent Residents and Malaysian work permit holders are eligible to apply for the Security Officer Licence.
