Course Overview

Operate Forklift Refresher Training Course is designed for forklift operators who completed their initial training over three years ago, to update and reinforce their skills and knowledge for safe forklift operation under various conditions.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Gain requisite WSH knowledge related to forklift operations.
  • Understand the SS 573 code of practice for powered counter-balanced forklifts.
  • Learn industrial standards for operating forklifts below 5 tons.
  • Acquire skills to operate forklifts safely and efficiently under various environmental conditions.
  • Apply knowledge in handling different types of material loads.
  • Reinforce understanding of safe and proper forklift operation practices.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Participants must have attended and passed the Forklift 3-day or 5-day course.
  • Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 3 and above, or equivalent.
  • Trainees should be physically fit and in good health and generally do not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights/vertigo, giddiness/difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence, psychiatric illness or the like.
  • This course is for Forklift operators, who have previously completed the Forklift training course 3 or more years ago and wish to attend the refresher training in Forklift operations (below 5 tons).

Learning Units:

  • Relevant Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Legislations / Singapore Standards SS573 applicable to forklift operation.
  • Stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all.
  • Prepare to carry out the operation of the forklift in accordance with WSH regulations, SS 573 industrial standards.
  • Organisational SOP.
  • Perform forklift inspection prior to use.
  • Carry out the operation of forklift.
  • Handing over forklift at the end of duty.

Certifications Granted:

Certificate of Proficiency will be issued, by Absolute Kinetics Consultancy Pte Ltd, to the participants who have passed the Practical assessment.

7 Hours (including practical assessment) 1 Day.
Exam Format:
Only Practical assessment: 30 mins. Passing criteria – 100% marks.
