Course Overview

The Top Executive WSH Programme (TEWP) Course emphasizes the importance of WSH within the organization, outlines the legal responsibilities of the Chief Executive and Board of Directors, and provides a detailed root cause analysis of common incident types.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Understand why his/her business should be interested in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH).
  • Know what resources or information his/her company can tap into to build its WSH capabilities.
  • Know what actions he/she can take to improve the WSH processes in his/her company

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • The participant should be a Chief Executive (or equivalent)/ Board Director who is responsible for WSH in the company, in line with Measure #1 in the Approved Code of Practice for Chief Executives’ and Board of Directors’ Workplace Safety and Health Duties. The program is also suitable for staff who are keen to know more about WSH.

Learning Units:

  • The importance of WSH for businesses.
  • Your legal responsibilities for WSH as CEO or Board Member.
  • Fulfilling legal responsibility – the Approved Code of Practice on Chief Executives’ and Board of Directors’ Workplace Safety and Health Duties.
  • Preparing a WSH Policy.

Certifications Granted:

Participants who complete the course with 100% attendance will receive an e-certificate.

Trainees who declare themselves as corporate top executives, such as CEOs or Board Directors (excluding Covering Officers), will be awarded the Certificate of Completion (COC). Obtaining the COC fulfills the legal requirement for attending the Top Executive WSH Programme (TEWP). Only the COC is accepted and recognized by the WSH Council for bizSAFE certification.

Trainees who declare themselves as non-CEOs, non-Board Directors, or non-equivalents of corporate top executives will receive the Certificate of Attendance (COA). However, the COA does not fulfill the legal requirement for the TEWP and will not be accepted or recognized by the WSH Council for bizSAFE certification.
