Course Overview

The Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) Recertification Assessment ensures that construction workers stay current with Workplace Safety and Health standards. It also recertifies individuals in the construction industry who need to renew their CSOC Safety Pass for the Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites course.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to:

  • Update your (CSOC Course | Construction Safety Orientation Course | Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites) safety pass.

Prerequisites:

Before beginning this course, it’s essential to have the following:

  • Participants must possess a valid certification (Apply WSH in Construction Sites | Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC)), to be eligible to attend the CSOC recertification assessment.
  • The trainee must pass at least one Apply WSH in Construction Sites | Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) assessment before registering for the CSOC recertification assessment. Trainees who have successfully passed at least one CSOC assessment will be registered to take the recertification assessment, which includes Microlearning questions, whether they choose to enroll in the full course or proceed directly to the recertification assessment.

  • If the trainee fails the CSOC recertification assessment, they must apply for the 2-day Apply WSH in Construction Sites | Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC). Before enrolling in the CSOC course, the trainee must complete the WSH Microlearning Programme. They must register for the WSH Microlearning Programme with either SCAL Academy or NTUC LearningHub. The trainee is required to complete and pass the programme before re-registering for the 2-day Apply WSH in Construction Sites | Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC).

Certifications Granted:

WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.

Additional Details:

Latecomers will not be admitted to the class. Participants must bring one of the following documents, either a photocopy or original: Work Permit, IPA, Passport, NRIC, S Pass, or Employment Pass.

Participants must wear safety shoes and appropriate attire (no singlets, shorts, or bermudas).

Each participant can attempt the Construction Safety Orientation Course Recertification Assessment once. If they fail, they must attend the 2-day CSOC course (Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites) and pass the assessment to renew their CSOC/AWSHCS certification.

Starting on 1 Jan 2024, assessments will move online, with the proctoring system capturing trainee photos during the test.

New or first-time trainees attending the 2-day CSOC course are exempt from providing the WSH Microlearning Programme e-certificate and do not need to attend the ML Programme at this time.
